The Role – Technical Fashion Designer

  • Immediately start working with CMA’s new white-label division team to develop an in-house collection;

  • Work alongside the production team to design digitised patterns using CAD for existing and new clients;

  • Collaborate with the sourcing team to select components, fabrics, and trims based on functional properties and costs without sacrificing design or style;

  • Illustrate and render stylised sketches and technical flats, create detailed tech packs, and provide design inputs;

  • Accurately draft and grade clothing patterns to be used with pattern plotter/cutter machine;

  • Participate in fittings, proto revisions, and provide feedback to the production team to ensure all garments are accurately manufactured;

  • Effectively manage multiple priority projects to meet timelines for in-house and client productions;

  • Communicate daily via in-person and virtual meetings, as well as email, in a professional manner that reflects the client-centric values of CMA.


What You Bring to the Role

  • Has Fashion & Technical Design certificate/degree from an accredited College/University;

  • 1 year of relevant design experience in the clothing industry;

  • Highly proficient with Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, as well as the Microsoft Office suite;

  • Knowledge in garment design and construction with advanced digitised pattern grading skills;

  • Deep experience creating detailed tech packs with focus on accurate vector designs and graded measurements;

  • Strong command of the English language, both written and verbal;

  • Ethical work philosophy, professional at all times, a team player, positive attitude, a consummate learner; these are all must-have personal character traits.

* Priority will be given to candidates who can produce high quality surface designs for fabric printing.
